In some cases conventional root canal therapy cannot adequately seal the root canal system and a minor surgical procedure is required. Large complicated restorations, old inadequate root canal therapy or the need for a biopsy are some of the conditions that would require endodontic surgery to save a tooth. If it has been suggested to extract a tooth with endodontic therapy Dr. Nixon would be happy to evaluate the case to see if endodontic surgery would allow you to keep your natural tooth.
